Engaging immigrant women

I was recently invited to attend the Union Club’s lunch event on successful immigrant business women in Cleveland, presented by the Club’s Engaging Women Committee on Tuesday, October 29th. What an inspirational event!

Four of our community’s most prominent women in business told their personal stories, sharing their experiences and struggles to build their successful businesses. They spoke of determination, grit, risk taking, community ties and never forgetting one’s own heritage and culture.

They also praised Cleveland as an immigrant-friendly city with various opportunities for foreign nationals to work, innovate and thrive.  Their stories resemble the stories of so many of our clients who persevere in the face of endless difficulties, from cultural differences to immigration struggles, and who are making an incredible contribution to the economic and social development of our communities.

Many thanks to Union Club for sponsoring such events and to Colleen Petras for inviting me!
